FABLES & FROLICS was created by Melinda, the company's Artistic Director, scriptwriter, composer and manager, in October 1996. Melinda has produced and performed in her shows such as "Pinocchio", and "Little Red Riding Hood" in Italian and "Jack and the Beanstalk" as well as "Rapunzel" in both Italian and German versions. A performer from a young age, she has experience singing, acting and dancing in Musical Theatre productions and providing lead vocals in a 17 piece Big Band. Melinda has also sung in a variety of rock bands in both Australia and the U.K. including touring the live band circuit in Edinburgh and performing at the Edinburgh Festival. She still lends her vocals to most Fables & Frolics show CD recordings, and can be seen performing live as a guest vocalist with Melbourne gypsy band "Bizerka".
Sarah is a trained classical and jazz musician and singer, who has spent most of her life performing in a wide range of bands, theatre productions and short films. After studying classical voice with Brian Hansford at the University of Melbourne, she toured with Water Carriers Dance Theatre for two years as an actor, dancer, musician and composer. She enjoys working with children as a vocal and piano teacher and looks forward to performing with Fables & Frolics.
Anthony is a very enthusiastic and entertaining performer who has a strong and natural presence both on the stage and screen. From a young age he was entertaining audiences before graduating in 2004 from Rusden Arts (Deakin Uni) with a BA in Acting and Performing. He also has a BA in Italian (Arts Major-Monash Uni) and a BA in Teaching (Deakin Burwood). He has worked as a LOTE and Drama teacher at various Primary and Secondary schools and is now pursuing his passion for acting, and performing in Musicals. Anthony has played many successful lead roles in theatre and film/TV and especially loves performing for children and feels inspired by their joyful energy.
