FABLES & FROLICS was created by Melinda, the company's Artistic Director, scriptwriter, composer and manager, in October 1996. Melinda has produced and performed in her shows such as "Pinocchio", and "Little Red Riding Hood" in Italian and "Jack and the Beanstalk" as well as "Rapunzel" in both Italian and German versions. A performer from a young age, she has experience singing, acting and dancing in Musical Theatre productions and providing lead vocals in a 17 piece Big Band. Melinda has also sung in a variety of rock bands in both Australia and the U.K. including touring the live band circuit in Edinburgh and performing at the Edinburgh Festival. She was a guest vocalist with Melbourne gypsy band "Bizerka" and still lends her vocals to most Fables & Frolics show CD recordings.
Currently she is the lead vocalist with folktronica/world fusion band "Etnik Elektrik".
Claudene has been acting, singing and dancing from a young age – making her stage debut in “The Little Mermaid” as a starfish. She has a B/Arts in theatre studies from the University of New England and has played a wide range of characters in a variety of styles, from Musical Theatre to Shakespeare and Australian drama to English restoration theatre. Claudene has sung with choirs including the Sing 2001 choir at events such as the Sydney 2000 Paralympics Opening Ceremony, the Pacific School Games and at the Sydney Opera House. Currently Claudene also performs at children’s parties.
A budding writer and actor, Aharon Maxwell Kampe has spent most of his time in training as an opera singer at the AML Golden Voice Studios under the tutelage of Antonio Lancuba. In the past he has spent most of his spare time performing in theatre productions with the Seymour Performers Workshop, and it was only after his starring role in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat” that Aharon realised this was the kind of work he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Aharon is excited to be playing the role of both the Prince and Witch in this year’s show of “Raperonzolo”.
